Care and Support Minister Norman Lamb asked Professor David Croisdale-Appleby OBE to undertake a review of social work education.

This is HCPC's statement in relation to the update on the Department of Health's response to the review of adult social work.

"We plan to review the standards for social workers in England following the completion of approval visits to social work programmes in this academic year. Our review of the standards of education and training is also underway. To inform our work we will carefully consider the government’s response to both the Narey and Croisdale-Appleby social work education reviews and the outcomes of the recent consultations held by the two Chief Social Workers in England regarding the Knowledge and Skills Statements for social work."
