Approval and monitoring processes

Our approval and monitoring processes ensure that programmes meet our education standards. More information about our standards is under the standards tab. All of our processes ensure our assessment of programmes is robust, rigorous and effective.

Our publication An introduction to our education processes provides a useful starting point for understanding our approach to education and training.

Our processes

Click on one of the headings below for more information about our processes.

UK

linkApproval process

We visit programmes we approve to ensure these programmes meet our education standards and that individuals who successfully complete the programme are able to meet the relevant proficiency standards.

UK

linkAnnual monitoring

Annual monitoring is a retrospective documentary process to consider whether a programme continues to meet our education standards and that individuals who successfully complete the programme are able to meet the relevant proficiency standards.

UK

linkMajor change

Our major change process requires education providers to notify us of changes to the way in which a programme meets our education standards. Changes should be reported to us before they occur but it is possible for us to assess changes to programmes that have already taken place.

UK

link Raising a concern about an approved education and training programme

As well as approving and monitoring approved programmes, we also review concerns that anyone might have about them.
