There are three main groups of people who work at the HCPC. This page is a quick guide to understanding more about each.
Please note we are a regulatory body, and register professionals who meet our standards to practise in the UK. We do not employ health and care professionals and we regret that we cannot assist you in finding a job in your profession.
Our employees work in a variety of departments to carry out the functions of the Health and Care Professions Council. Some departments carry out the regulatory functions (eg Education, Fitness to Practise and Registration), whilst others provide support services to the organisation (eg Finance and IT). All staff are based at our offices in Kennington, London.

Partners work as agents of the HCPC and are not employees. They provide the expertise the HCPC needs for its decision making, and ensure that we have appropriate professional and lay (public) input into what we do.
The broad term ‘partners’ includes a variety of different roles that can be filled by people with different experience and qualifications, from members of the public to qualified lawyers and solicitors, as well as health and care professionals on our Register.
Council and Committee members
Council members play a key role in setting strategy and policy for the HCPC, and ensuring the organisation fulfils its statutory duties. The Council consists of twenty members (made up of ten registrant and ten lay members), appointed by the Appointments Commission on behalf of the Privy Council.
The HCPC also appoints registrants to its Education and Training Committee to contribute to the oversight of the HCPC’s work in relation to education, training and registration.
